I have been using Bolt products for 8 years and so far I have had zero failures and the lock cylinders perform as good today as they did on the first day I got them. I just received some new 5th wheel locks, trailer lock and a cable lock. Just like before It took me about three seconds to key the locks with my Chevrolet Silverado key. These Bolt locks are so cool because now I can use my truck key to unlock multiple locks including a six foot cable lock, padlock, coupler pin lock, receiver lock and a 5th wheel king pin lock. With one key doing all my locks now it makes my life easier not trying to figure out which key fits what. It does take two hands to unlock the receiver hitch lock or the cylinder will spin as you turn the key. With that being said having one key for everything makes it all worth while.
For the people with new vehicles that don’t use a key, Bolt still has you covered. “Key fobs and push-to-start vehicles are becoming more and more common as automakers continuously advance their vehicle offerings. Bolt has met this transition to keyless entry and keyless starts by announcing that their products use the valet key which comes with the electronic key fobs.”
All of the locks feature Breakthrough One-Key Lock Technology, which permanently programs the lock to the owner’s vehicle ignition key. Once the ignition key is inserted into the lock cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key.
“Professionals use multiple cable locks on the job site, and that can mean countless chances for misplaced keys and lost productivity,” said Sales Manager Erika Garcia. “Our patented technology simplifies this by delivering one-key convenience and eliminating the need to carry extra keys. Plus, our auto-return spring automatically locks when the key is removed for added security. ”
The BOLT Cable Locks feature an automotive-grade lock shutter to keep out weather and debris and a six-plate tumbler sidebar that prevents picking and bumping.
BOLT Cable Locks are year/make/model specific – they work with most General Motors, Ford and Chrysler/Jeep vehicles on the road today – so numerous locks can be used with one vehicle ignition key. Additional locks such as padlocks, receiver locks and spare tire locks are also available. For more information, visit www.boltlock.com.
