PLEASE READ ALL 3 SECTIONS OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT
DATE: February 18th 2012 LOCATION: Rasor Road MEETING TIME: 10:30am for “meet & greet” and to sign release forms MEETING PLACE: The BIG Trees at the end of Rasor Road CLEANUP START: 11:00am Sharp! CLEANUP FINISH: 1:00pm and we will finish at the gas station
SECTION #1
This years cleanup at Rasor Road will only be 2 hours long due to it’s not that bad out there this year and we understand that money is tight and our trips are farther and fewer apart and we want to be sure that all the kids and families get enough riding time in.
Please keep tabs on your kids that are helping and be sure that they understand that they can approach any of the three (3) BLM representatives that will be out there, including myself if they get hurt, cut or lost.
We would like to also ask that everyone finish at the same time at the gas station for a formal “thank you” and a group photo session. Please be responsible where you park your quad, bike, truck or side by side at the gas station so that we don’t interrupt their business.
>>Please don’t pick up the old rusted cans up by the gas station, they are considered artifacts. Thanks for understanding<<
SECTION #2
BBQ At The Ranch / We have been asked by many if we could spend an hour or so at the Ranch and just have a short BBQ or eat a sandwich or something when we are done with the cleanup. The answer is “YES” and I will personally meet anyone that would like to do a quick lunch there directly after the cleanup. Keep in mind that I will have friends and kids with me and they all want to ride, so I would like to meet right away for a short time.
SECTION #3
KIDZ CORNER – A Special Request From OC Keith
My BLM Firend “Rose Beardshear” has started a nice thrift store in Barstow and it’s called “KIDZ CORNER” and I would like to help her out by asking for donations for the wonderful children that she works with. This is so simple to do and I really would like to ask all of you for your help.
Can you bring any old toys, bikes, games or clothing that might be in close to great condition to Rasor Road and when we all meet at the trees before the cleanup, I would like to present our donations to Rose and she can take them back with her in the truck she is bringing. Even if you don’t have children or something to donate, could you spare a $20.00 bill or maybe stop by Toy’s R Us on your way out?
Christmas is over, and I know this… But this is for a great cause and it will make you feel good…. heck, I might offer you a cold one at the Ranch!
THANK YOU EVERYONE
Just quick thanks to all the great people, families and kids that come to Rasor Road and help out. I know that all of us help out all year round keeping the desert clean and safe, but this one time a year that we meet in numbers is special.
And a BIG THANKS to all the HOOLIGANS (a camping group) for all that they have done.
BELOW, COULD YOU PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW MANY IN YOUR GROUP PLAN ON ATTENDING? ALSO, PLEASE GET YOUR FRIENDS TO SIGN UP TO OUR FORUM AND PARTICIPATE!
I look forward to seeing all of you,
