MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — The BOLT series of locks eliminate the need to carry a lock key or remember a combination — because the locks work with a car key.
BOLT locks have a patented, automotive-style cylinder that allows a user to insert a car or truck key, turn once, and program the lock to that key. Better yet, any number of locks in the series can be set to that key.
So now the same key — a vehicle key — can be used to lock a toolbox, trailer hitch, storage shed, gate, a rod or gun locker.
BOLT locks aren’t just convenient. Because of their automotive-grade construction, they have a high corrosion resistance and are nearly impossible to pick or bump.
Recently introduced at the 2010 SEMA Show, the BOLT Series includes a padlock and receiver lock (for boat, ATV & other trailers), a cable lock, a spare tire lock and a motorcycle lock. They fit more than 88 percent of light trucks and over 70 percent of all Ford, GM and Chrysler vehicles.
