2010 Sand Sports Super Show
For me the Sand Sports Super Show means the riding season is getting ready to start. It is my favorite show of the year; I have the opportunity to check out all the new stuff the fabricators have come up with and get to chat with friends that I only get to see with once a year. The 2010 shows largest draw seemed to be the UTV Market with the new Can Am Commander being one of the hot topics. I was told over 42,000 people attended this years event to look at the products that the 315 exhibitors brought to share with the consumers. I love checking out all the new toys and accessories but being a toyhauler man I was thrilled to see all the RV’s in attendance to look at.
Over the last few years it has become a place for toy hauler manufacturers to show case their new models and lay outs. This year was no exception and the RV builders stepped it up once again with a bunch of new toyhaulers. I was impressed with how the builders were upgrading the toy haulers into truly usable trailers and not just boxes with a toilet to put our toys in. From the high end Dutchmen Voltage to the couple year old brand new Carson Fun Runners at super low prices, every category was represented.
I talked to toy hauler builders, Reps and got invitations from a couple of them to come tour their factories. So over the next few months I will do some videos showcasing how different manufactures put together trailers start to finish. I was also able to do a short video of the new Dutchmen Voltage at the SSSS. This new trailer has upped the bar on the toyhauler market. I like the layouts on a lot of the new models and I am happy that after taking a few years off the toy hauler market is coming back.
I talked to Shawn Parker the Show Manager and she said:
“We were so happy with the way the show turned out this year. We work hard all year to make this show the best event of its kind and I think our hard work paid off.
We greatly appreciate all of the vendors for their continued support, new and old. Many of them stuck by us and chose to join us when their budgets sometimes make it tough on them.
It is nice to know that they have the faith in us to put on an event that is worth their time, effort, and money.
We also have so many returning attendees that come from near and far, year after year. We appreciate all of their support. We will continue to look at all areas of our show for 2011, make some changes, enhance areas, and continue to make this the best Sand/off road show of the industry.”
Once again it was a great show and if this event was an indicator of the off-road season to come it will be a great year. Make sure you keep the http://www.sandsportssupershow.com/ link in your favorites so you can stay on top of what will be going on for next year show.
